Medication Treatment
How to Treat Diabetes by Medication
Diabetes is a medical condition which can vary in severity depending on the type of diabetes and individual who has the diabetes. Diabetes is something which can be treated by maintaining a healthy lifestyle and at times taking various medications to help with the insulin deficiency. There are a few different medications which diabetics take to help them with their medical problem and these come in the form of insulin shots and diabetes pills.
Insulin Shots
For certain individuals who have Type 1 diabetes, insulin shots may be a necessary medication they will have to take on a daily basis. There are approximately 20 different types of insulin that can be taken by the individual and the type as well as dosage level depends on the severity of the Type 1 diabetes. The only way for a diabetic to obtain insulin is via an injection and one cannot take insulin in the form of pills. For other types of diabetics however a diabetes pill may be a viable option for them to consider.
Diabetes Pill
Individuals with Type 2 diabetes may be able to take diabetes pills as opposed to giving themselves insulin injections each day. This is because those diabetics with Type 2 diabetes make some insulin but their body does not respond to it correctly. The diabetes pills will work to correct this problem and keep the body’s insulin level steady each day.
These are the two main ways diabetics can treat their medical condition with medications.
