Explanation of Type 2 Diabetes
Type 2 diabetes is a less severe form of diabetes when compared to Type 1 diabetes. Type 2 diabetes consists of an individual’s body not producing enough of the insulin which it needs to properly work. Or, it involves a situation where the cells within the body act in such a manner that they ignore the insulin which is present therein. This is the most common form of diabetes and one which afflicts many of the individuals who have diabetes.
Conditions Associated with Type 2 Diabetes
There are a few different medical conditions that are associated with Type 2 diabetes. The first is hypoglycemia which is known as low blood sugar. Those who have hypoglycemia may experience dizziness, shaking, sweating, hunger and headaches, just to name a few. The best way to prevent against these types of episodes is to keep one’s blood sugar at a normal level. This can be done by taking glucose tablets, drinking fruit juice or eating hard candy.
Another type of condition associated with Type 2 diabetes is hyperglycemia. This is known as high blood sugar. Individuals who have high blood sugar do not have enough insulin within the body and may experience increased urination and intense thirst. It is important to check for ketones within the body by viewing the urine sample of an individual experiencing hyperglycemia as this can lead to ketoacidosis, or diabetic coma. The best way to deal with the condition of high blood sugar is to get the sugar level to a normal rate. One who manages their diabetes sufficiently can help to protect against hyperglycemia.
